How many hours will my project need?
All projects have different requirements and it can be quite a challenge to figure out exactly how many hours any project will need however, based on all of my past work I can provide the following estimates.
Small
This would be a single page brochure site to a small site with around 5 pages and some bespoke design elements.
Estimate: 20 - 40 hours
Medium
This would be a multi page site between 5 - 10 pages with bespoke design elements, some extra features and functionality.
Estimate: 40 - 80 hours
Large
This would be a large complicated site with many pages and a lot of bespoke design and functionality.
Estimate: 80 - 100 hours +
Projects can also be broken up into "phases" which suits the block based pricing model very well. Phase 1 will be the essential core information for your business and further information can be added as part of phase 2. All websites are a work in progress as they should be updated regularly.
Website maintenance care plans
By routinely updating your WordPress website and all plugins, you ensure that your site remains secure, stable, and compatible with current web standards. Regular maintenance significantly reduces vulnerability to common security threats and prevents issues before they impact your business.
One hour per month
ZAR 6,900 annually | Website care plans are billed annually to ensure continuity of service and simplified administration.
Maintenance includes:
- Regular updates for WordPress core version releases, plugin updates, and theme updates, with quality assurance testing after each update.
- Troubleshooting of conflicts or errors on your website as they arise.
- Security best practices to reduce potential threats, including monitoring and protection against spam, malware, unauthorized logins, and other malicious activity.
- Regular backups with the ability to restore your website in the event of data loss, failure, or security incidents.
- Proactive maintenance to ensure ongoing site stability, security, and compatibility over time.
Two hours per month
ZAR 13,200 annually | Website care plans are billed annually to ensure continuity of service and simplified administration.
Includes everything in the Budget Care Plan, plus:
- Monitoring of the server and hosting environment, including current and secure versions of Apache, PHP, and MySQL.
- Verification and maintenance of properly configured SSL certificates, security firewalls, and related server-level best practices.
- Performance optimisation to ensure your WordPress website is configured for optimal speed and reliability, including best practices such as page caching and image compression.
A faster website improves user experience and can positively influence search visibility.
Four hours per month
ZAR 24,000 annually | Website care plans are billed annually to ensure continuity of service and simplified administration.
Includes everything in the Standard Care Plan, plus:
- Google Analytics integration with reporting access available within the WordPress admin dashboard.
- On-site SEO best practice checks and periodic content improvements focused on structure, metadata, and alignment with Google guidelines.
- Ongoing proactive support for content updates, site adjustments, and strategic improvements as required within the allocated monthly time.
